Carlo, born from a wealthy bloodline, has recently been given the responsibility to take over the family business composed of vast sugarcane farmlands, and the Option Milling Company in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Due to the overwhelming amount of work, he hires a personal assistant named Susie, a newly graduated educator who is born from an underprivileged family. Susie is responsible for aiding Carlo in all of his endeavors, both working hard for the better of their families.
The story also revolves around the Sugar Import Liberalization, a proposed bill made by the Philippine government wherein numerous organizations under the agricultural sector are opposed to the legalization of importing sugar from other countries.
